Why treat your hair with care
Your hair type can be checked by referring to four items
Prevent hair loss
Healthy hair is the result of a balanced diet
Hair loss can result from neglect
Hair has seven adversaries
Seven rules for preventing hair loss
1) Keep your scalp and hair clean through regular shampooing.
2) Massage your scalp for better blood circulation.
3) Avoid being irritated or depressed.
4) Eat and sleep regularly and following regular toilet habits.
5) Maintain a balanced diet.
6) Keep your fat and salt intake to a minimum.
7) Refrain from smoking and drinking coffee or alcoholic
beverages.
5>
Hair loss is mainly caused by the following seven factors.
1) Abnormally sharp increase in dandruff
2) Abnormally sharp increase in sebum
3) Physical constitution highly sensitive to male hormones
4) Poor blood circulation or damaged hair cells
5) Mental disorder
6) Nutritional disorder
7) Other disease or injury
Hair loss is usually caused by the combination of any of the
above factors. Basic medical treatment has not yet been
established to deal with this kind of hair loss. If you suspect
that you are suffering from any of the above abnormalities, get
medical treatment as soon as possible to prevent hair loss.

You can gauge a person's health pretty accurately simply by
observing their hair. The hair is extremely sensitive to a
person's mental condition. Your hair tends to be in good
shape when you are. Otherwise, your hair will have a dull
appearance. This is because your hair is a part of your skin,
and is closely related to the brain nerves. To maintain
youthful, healthy hair, you should live life to the fullest,
both physically and mentally. It should be obvious, but this
is the most effective method of maintaining the health of
your hair.
5>
As hair mainly consists of protein, it is essential that you
consume protein including soybeans, fish, and meats with as
ittle fat as possible. In addition, you should have enough
vegetables to maintain the health of your blood. For your
energy source, you should also consume the appropriate amounts
of carbohydrates including rice and bread. In other words, eat
a balanced diet that will be beneficial to your hair and your
health. Furthermore, taking vitamins and minerals by consuming
seaweed, liver, and milk is the best "menu" for your hair.

When shampooing your hair:
Your hair can't be damaged from too much shampooing.
Shampooing on a daily basis, as is the case with washing
your face, will do you good. The number of times you
shampoo and the amount of shampoo used should be
adjusted in accordance with how soiled the hair happens
to be.
When rinsing your hair:
Rinsing has an effect on the cuticles of your hair surface,
making your hair silky. Never fail to groom your hair
with a comb and, to protect it against dryness and static
electricity, rinse it thoroughly.
When giving your hair a treatment:
Besides providing protection, treatments can help to
beautify your hair as well as make it more smooth.
Treatments are all the more recommendable when
your hair is damaged.
Using hairdryers
Heat is one of the greatest enemies of healthy hair.
Moreover, using a brush or comb with a hairdryer
may cause a buildup of friction, resulting in damaged
hair. If you want to use a hairdryer, make sure that
you pass it over your hair in quick strokes to keep
the hair from becoming too hot.

Correct hair care begins with knowing your hair type.
Please check to see if your hair has any of the following
four characteristics: (1) dry scalp, (2) loose hair, (3)
glossy hair, and (4) sticky hair. If your hair has none of
these characteristics, your hair is normal. If your hair
has the characteristics described in (1) or (2), your hair
is dry. If your hair has the characteristic described in
(4), your hair is oily. If your hair has all of the
characteristics mentioned in (1), (2), and (3), your hair
may be damaged.

Although the hair is a part of your body and your hair roots
are alive, the hair shafts, what you refer to as your "hair,"
are dead. This is why you don't feel any pain when your hair
is cut. Instead, hair has no power to recover if it is damaged.
Once damaged, it will never recover regardless of the treatment
you give it. You must treat your hair with care to ensure that
you don't damage it and to ensure that you do not allow the
condition of your hair to deteriorate further if it is damaged.
Give your hair adequate care everyday.

1. Chlorine: To check if your water contains high levels of
chlorine, contact your local water municipality. They provide
to their customers information pertaining to the water quality.
Their number should be listed with your water bill. If the
water has a high amount of chlorine you might consider getting
a filter for your shower. Chlorine can strip color out of the
hair and/or make it really difficult to color.
2. Sunlight
3. Store-bought products

If you suffer from tangles and knots, try detangling your hair
while it is wet. Apply a good conditioner and using a wide tooth
comb and start from the ends. Take as much time as is necessary
to avoid stretching or breaking your hair. Apply a leave-in
conditioner for added protection.
5>
If you are using a professional shampoo it is not necessary to
change. You may consider using a deep-cleansing shampoo once a
week.
5>
If you are using a professional shampoo, then damage will not
occur if used everyday. However, you should not use a
deep-cleansing shampoo on your hair everyday. It may strip all
the natural oils from the hair, leaving it dry and brittle.

The average growth of healthy, normal hair is about 1/2"
(one-half inch) per month. Hair growth is also influenced by:
seasons of the year, nutrition, hormones, and health.
5>
To maintain healthy hair you should get it cut every six (6)
to eight (8) weeks. The hair begins to split at about this
time at the ends which makes the ends weak -- causing breakage.
By cutting the hair, the split ends are removed before problems
can occur. Thera-Cut can prevent them all together.

Hair normally has a moisture content of approximately 10%. If
your hair's moisture content drops below this level the key is to
increase the hair's ability of attract and retain moisture. This
is accomplished by using moisturizers.
Good ones have "humectants" that not only replace lost moisture
but actually attract moisture and retain it in the cortex of the
hair. Essential fatty aids (EFA's) are great moisturizers. One of
the best and most cost effective essential fatty acids is safflower
oil. It is the kind you can buy to cook with. It is rich in EFA's.
The scalp produces the best EFA's called sebum. The problems is
once the hair grows past the neck line or does not have direct
contact with the scalp the scalps natural oils can not be utilized
throughout the hair shaft.
You can manually replace the lost EFA's by:
1. Placing 1 or 2 drops of safflower oil in your palms and rub
them together.
2. There should only be enough to make your hands "shine" in the
light.
3. Carefully take your hair (while dry) and "scrunch" the small
amount of oil to the ENDS first and work toward the scalp.
Leave this in your hair.
4. 1-2 drops of safflower oil on dry hair is so small, you won't
notice it is there.
Doing the above as often as necessary will ensure your dry hair
will have the proper amount of humectants to attract and reatin
moisture. The key is that a small amount will go a long way.

Apparently stress can affect your hair as well.
Any tension/stress can bring about disorders of the scalp .
This could be a cause of the dandruff you have been fighting....
5>
Did you know that your hair needs Vitamin E for shine?
You can get this much needed vitamin by incorporating brown
rice, nuts, wheat germ and leafy green vegetables into your
diet.
Did you know that avocado was good for your hair? Yes, it is!
So mash up an avocado with a tablespoon of olive oil and a tsp
of baking powder. Mix this until well combined and then work the
mixture through your hair.
Go and surf this site for about 15 minutes and then wash out. ;-

The permanent color will penetrate the inner core of the hair
strand and will not wash away as with a semi-permanent color
that will wash out after a number of shampoos.
This varies, however, so be sure to check the box for this
information.
5>
You probably noticed that when you go to the salon to have your
hair done, it seems to last for days at a time.
The reason for this is that the stylist has taken a great deal
of time and care to style it right on day one.
So the next time you wash your hair, schedule the time to
carefully blow dry it, set it etc. A quick wash and go just isn't
the same thing.
5>
Do you have long hair and you'd like more volume?
Towel your hair dry and then it pull up on the top of your head.
Secure with a fat "elastic" (that won't damage or crease your
hair ) and then blow dry the scalp hair until it is dry.
This will give you plenty of volume with little effort.
5>
The worst thing you can do if you color your own hair is to
apply the permanent color throughout your hair every time you
color.
You know how vulnerable your hair is while it is wet. Using the
brush can really do some damage.
So, after you shampoo your hair, blot it dry with a towel and
then try to detangle it with your fingers. Don't use the brush!
This is the time when you can stretch the strands and weaken
them to the point where they snap.
When you brush your wet hair you can also cause frizzing to
occur. Don't pick up the brush until your hair is somewhere
between damp and dry and then use the blow dryer and a round
brush until it is styled and completely dry.
5>
The worst thing you can do if you color your own hair is to
apply the permanent color throughout your hair every time you
color.
The reason? It makes the hair more porous with the repeated
colorings and it grabs more color giving you uneven color.
Also, it is not healthy for your hair.
So try a semi permanent color instead, if you don't have the
time to do the job properly.
5>
Try a little scalp massage to stimulate hair growth.
It not only feels wonderful, it's good for you, too. Oh yes, the
feeling is just, aaah, you have to do it! :-)
5>
There are some foods that you should avoid and replace them with
fresh fruits and vegetables.
Why? To ensure that the hair that is forming beneath the surface
of your scalp is healthy.
So, the foods to avoid include too many sweets, chocolate, cakes
and cookies. Unfortunately, these favorites simply don't help
your hair.
5>
Once your hair is completely dry, finish it off with a cool
blast of air to seal the cuticle.
The reason? If the cuticles are ragged, there is no shine...
